Moscow, UZBEKISTAN - Cleaning Lady
Interview made by Cyril Bruyelle in July 2017
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
Oh, I don't know what I wanted to do when I was a kid… I never thought about it.
With whom would you like to have a coffee?
With my family, I think.
If you could choose something that could be taught in every school in the world, what would it be?
In schools worldwide? Maybe literature.
To you, what’s the main characteristic that all human being have in common?
Honesty and justice, I think. Decency.
To you, who is the happiest person on earth?
I don't know. I think there are many happy people. Those, whose families are fine or whose children are healthy. Those, who have a happy family, may consider themselves happy.
If you were President of the US, what would your first reform be?
It is a difficult question. I don't know. Let's skip it.
What do you need?
I have a husband and children and a home. It would be good if we lived together, as a whole family, with my mother and children.
What would you do if we gave you 1 million dollars now?
I would think and talk it over, and then we would decide how to spend it.
Which innovation, realistic or not, would greatly ease your day-to-day life?
Maybe, an innovation that would make someone go to work for me?
What’s the news that affects you the most in your country these days?
This American war in Ukraine. I wish everything returns to normal soon and some decisions are made to stop the war in Donbass. I wish everybody lived peacefully
Do you think your life is easier or more complicated than the life of your parents?
I live worse than my parents did. My parents lived well, maybe because it was such a different time. We had Soviet Union back in the day, which brought stability. For instance, they went to the seaside every year. They did not think what would happen tomorrow. They lived. No one was ever looking for a job. They lived well in those times.
If you had to create a company, what would it be?
I can't even imagine, what it would be. Maybe a cleaning company, like what I am currently doing - I am a cleaning lady.
Can you sing something beautiful?
Sing? Oh, I have not sung for ages… My voice is not good enough for singing. I need to think what to sing… Okay, let' skip it.
What are you afraid of?
Old age, maybe… Loneliness and dangerous diseases.
What is your dream?
I dream to go back home soon and live with my family, with my parents and children. I am a visitor here.
Close your eyes, you are in 2100, what do you see?
Everything like in fantastic movies I think. Frisbees, cars…
What is the most beautiful thing that you’ve seen in your life?
In my life… I saw a lot. Everything is beautiful in its own way.
If you had to write a book about the current world, what would you be the title?
"In tune with life", or how should I put it right? "Wend Your Way through Life".
Who is God for you?
A maker. A creator.
Which of your country's cultural specificities are you the proudest of?
We have a very good culture, not like in Russia. We respect old people and love children. We have families with many children - that's what I like. Old men's word is the law. They are respected and honoured.
If you could do any job regardless of money, what would it be?
I think I would do crafts. Do something like that, a bit of designer stuff. I have become keen on it lately.
If you had to explain our planet to an alien, what would you say?
Beautiful and green. Plenty of water. Good and friendly planet.
And you, which question would you like to ask the world?
I would not ask a question I think. I'd just say that people should be kinder and more polite to each other. They should not have frays or conflicts and live in harmony. We live on one small planet, so why should we have conflict with each other?
